Ok, we covered it last week, where the rumor was that ACORN would infiltrate the teabag parties and have people sign petitions supporting Obama and the liberal agenda. Now, the rumor has gotten even bigger. Some teabag party organizers are saying that they have intercepted communications from ACORN saying that they will drop off several black women at the parties who will then be attacked by ACORN plants in the crowd. This will make the teabag parties seem both violent and racist, while they are also afraid to sign petitions.
Me, I think the two groups are in cahoots. The publicity that has come about from these rumors has increased the notoriety of each group. In the Hollywood vernacular, any publicity is good publicity.
If they’re not in cahoots, then these teabaggers are just plain paranoid.
“On Fox News Channel’s April 7 “Your World,” host Neil Cavuto reported that the Tax Day tea party protests on April 15 will be “infiltrated” by their political opponents and led by left-wing activist organizations. He specifically named Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).”
Whoa, some institute is quoting some Faux News guy who “reports” that ACORN is going to infiltrate the teabagging? I’d better hedge that bet I made.
Of course, it is a little different to say that people will be there to watch, versus accusing them of trying to sabotage the things with fake petitions and fake violence.
Teabaggers Unite! That’ll get the liberals panties all in a bunch!
Is it the grass roots effort that is making you fearful? Lay down on the couch and talk to me about your feelings of inferiority and fear of the future. You need to mock tells me you are concerned.

Oh, please. I read someone call this (tea party “protests”) kind of action “AstroTurf” efforts, referencing the fake nature of the underlying motivations. I’m certainly not afraid of these things.
Ken, if you can get me and a lot of others like me to take time off to go to a protest, something is cooking.
Edit: Ken why don’t you go check one out for yourself rather than read someone elses characterization of something that hasn’t even happened yet?
Symbolism is for sheeple and you are smarter than that Steve. You are already doing a lot of things in your life to be green. No need to go along with publicity stunts.
If you think this is a meaningless publicity stunt then you have a point. It’s not to me.
I get that. It’s just hypocritical to tell Steve he’s a sheeple and wasting his time for participating in a symbolic protest, while then doing it yourself and claiming it’s meaningful and worthwhile.
You can call Earth Day stupid. That’s fine. But you extended your criticism to symbolic protests in general.
I understand your criticism but here is the difference to me:
Earth Day - turning off your lights for an hour does nothing to save the earth. It is pure symbolism.
Tea Party - is a grass roots effort to organize and have a real impact on the future of our government by bringing out the politically inactive, possibly resulting in a relevant third party.
Is it the grass roots effort that is making you fearful? Lay down on the couch and talk to me about your feelings of inferiority and fear of the future. You need to mock tells me you are concerned.
I take it back. I am now scared. I need some guns.
So you think Earth Day activities are symbolism, while teabag parties are grass-roots efforts?
Tell ya what, I’ll take you on a tour of the Habitat for Humanity homes that have been built to high environmental sustainability levels as part of our Earth Day activities. Heck, we can probably give you a chance to swing a hammer at one of those “symbolic” activities where someone will soon move in and raise their children.
Or you can hang out at a post-office and be afraid of infiltrators.
