Accountability thread: Week of Sept. 30

How are you and how was your week?

Goals were

  1. 7/7 healthy coping skills to get to 173 days next week!
  2. Eat 1700-1900 calories a day
  3. journal daily
  4. practice and use the 2 min pause skill

Report

  1. DONE! Hello from 173 days in a row behind me, soon to be 175. I look forward to telling you 180 days (having done a complete 180 hee hee) next Monday
  2. Done, had two days at 2000
  3. Not daily but I did it
  4. I used this a bit

Accomplishments last week aside from the above

  • flight back to ME went fine, which was a huge relief. Was expecting a lot more pain
  • scheduled hip surgery for 10/18 with a surgeon who is the best in ME, if not even more broadly. So grateful for a closer date than would have happened in OK
  • weight still stable, am doing lots of winning against my eating disorder, and today makes four months of weight stability plus adequate calories. I keep hoping my period will start… I saw the weight from the ER visit report nine days ago, and that number is basically a normal BMI. The weights at my drs office are a first thing in the AM, have had only 8 oz of water to drink. I wasn’t as freaked by the number in the ER as I thought I would be; I think it’s evidence that time at eating enough will result in health outcomes like having a period. (And I am back to seeing my PCP here for both management of pain meds while awaiting surgery and continued anorexia recovery)

goals for this coming week

  1. Get another 7/7 days of healthy coping in a row to get to 180 next week
  2. Journal daily
  3. Use the 2 min pause skill
  4. 1700-1900 calories a day even though this is still freaking me out (I’m basically on bedrest and think I am going to gain weight on this amount)
  5. I will practice gratitude that I can work a bit (I am, overall, grateful for this - I just hate the project I am doing right now)
  6. I will let myself feel both that 18 days to surgery is a long time (I’m still in a fair amount of pain daily), and that 18 days to surgery is a LOT quicker than the 8 weeks it would have been in OK. Both of those feelings are valid.

How can I support everyone this week? I hope you all are well.

hello from 174 days in a row! Today will be day 175!

calories a little over 1500 yesterday; had a panic attack about stuff related to surgery and the anxiety before it/during it made eating a complete no go. The win was eating something for dinner instead of skipping it (which is a thing I considered).

it’s October! 17 days til surgery and yesterday was another day closer to eventually being pain free.

Glad you got a soon-ish surgery date - hang in there! Been a bit busy so no time for an update on my week - maybe tomorrow!

16 days til surgery
175 days - 25 weeks - in a row of healthy coping! So proud of myself. This time next week I will be reporting 6 months!
journaled yesterday and used the 2 min pause skill
1800 calories yesterday, still a bit freaked out by that number but I did it and am hoping my body will decide to have a period soon and make this all feel worth it.

Glad you’re coping well for so long and happy to see you’ve got your operation planned.

The more you’ll eat around (before and after) operation, the faster you’ll recover. Peter Attia has a podcast from April 24, 2024. Worth considering as an added motivation.

This podcast came across my social media feeds this morning and I instantly thought of you - I don’t
know if you do podcasts but maybe it’ll have a useful nugget or two.

listening! Thank you.

  1. Consolidation week done - ended up doing a bit less than I expected, but that’s ok: 8k swim, 3.5hrs bike, 2hrs run. Most of a normal week of S&C done. Decent amount of intensity, in the hope I didn’t end up feeling flat. What I ended up feeling was knackered, partly because helping run a race is very tiring! Ankle is all good. Shoulder wasn’t sore at all after Thu and Fri squad swim sessions - for the first time since May - I’m beyond happy with this and intend to celebrate by stopping my rehab exercises sooner than I should

  2. Lost track of nutrition a bit - was ok I think.

  3. No phone at bedtime 7/7. Think I’ve got this nailed now - don’t even think about it anymore.

  4. Good amount of time spent on new project

Our race went well. There were a few challenges with it being the 1st time running it - lessons learned for next time - but no major incidents and competitors seemed to have a good time

Goals for this week:

  1. Standard solid training week. Got 2 of these left, then it’s race week. I already know it won’t quite be a standard solid week as Mon is usually a hard day and I was tired having been on feet all day helping to run the duathlon on Sunday, so just did a little activation session and called that good for the day.
  2. Good nutrition.
  3. No reading phone at bedtime.
  4. Any time on new project will be a bonus as have some domestic stuff to deal with.

Have a good week, what’s left of it!

don’t stop the shoulder rehab! “Rehab” becomes “prehab” when things are going well. I’m glad your race went well!

176 days in a row healthy coping! That’s 25 weeks + 1 day
journaled yesterday
weight was stable this week, overall am at least a pound up from the summer so that is objectively a good thing.
calorie goal is 1700/day, yesterday was way low because I was in such ridiculous amounts of pain.

I’ll look at it!

using the healthy coping skills… specifically the 2 min pause one … right now. I will be so glad I did this when I wake up tomorrow at 177 days

I MADE IT THROUGH THE HARD FEELINGS YESTERDAY!
177 days
so glad I sat through it
1700 calories, and journaled yesterday
I’m going to get to 180, and then 200, and so on
