Have been getting a weird pain in my inner upper thigh/abductor (right leg only) when cycling (no issues running or swimming), particularly on rides longer than 1.5 hours or if I go hard. The pain began about 3 weeks ago during a 5 hr long ride. I took off 12 days from riding (only running, which doesn’t seem to bother it - ran Paris Marathon last weekend with no issues) and then started back with some 1.5 hour rides this week where it was not really noticeable, but when I went for another long ride (5 hr)it was particularly bad - had to stop 3xs to stretch it out on the way home. When I to stopped to stretch it it felt noticeably better for a bit but then tightened up as I continue to ride. My fiance has tried to massage it for me and its helped a little but this specific little area is supertight/painful when massaged, particularly after I ride. Heat + stretching make it feel better, but I am wondering if ice + anti-inflammatories would be better? Can’t barely notice it walking around and no problem running, but its definitely not the sort of thing you can train through. No bike fit issues - riding same road + tri bikes I have ridden for 3 years. I am currently training for Quelle Roth on July 10th so I am anxious to get back to healthy as soon as possible - we are in a rare stretch of nice + dry weather here in Holland and it kills me not to take advantage!
Trying to find a good local massage therapist this week, but would be interest to hear from anyone else who has had something similar.
