A Total Eclipse of My Heart

RIP Bonnie Tyler, singer of arguably one of the most memorable songs ever.

I was sad to hear this. She was still performing as recently as March and went downhill quickly with a tear in her bowel.

Bonnie Tyler rocked out to ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ in final performance before tragic death

RIP Bonnie

I saw this today. I didn’t know that TEOTH was supposed to go to Meatloaf, but he had a vocal injury, so the songwriter gave it to BT.

Worth a read The Number Ones: Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse Of The Heart"

Bonnie heard Bat out of Hell and though she had to work with that guy (Steinman) then got out of her contract, went to a new company just to work with Steinman! Recorded Total Eclipse and then Holding out for a Hero for Footloose with Steinman

The story you posted got one detail slightly wrong, she was born Gaynor Hopkins and became Sullivan by marriage.

Arguably the most famous person to come from my village, and by all accounts a genuinely nice lady who never forgot her roots.

That’s a Meatloafy song all day long. I can hear it in his voice.

Ignore 2 of the 4 backup singers, this is my favorite version of this song ever. At 2:50 he runs off to Meet Jim Steinman:

Cool, small world.
