What? Team Triathlon Nationals.
Where? Portugal, Europe.
Ok, so this is how it works around here: everybody starts together, everybody races alone. No team time trial, no relay teams, no team’s pursuit. The sum of the three top athletes’ finish time of each team gives the title. It’s just like a normal triathlon the difference is when cycling tactics get applied to draft legal triathlon (ITU style).
Probably I’m just writing this down 'cause my team won but what the heck. I’m enjoying sharing this and I know everyone likes pics
This was how we planned the thing:
On the swim: Everyone swims like there was no tomorow. No tactic there, just stamina
On the bike: IF we were alone, we’d push it HARD!
IF we were with a team mate, together we’d push it HARD!
IF we were with a rival team’s guy we would stay on the wheel ALL the time and drink some water lol
On the run: If we COULD speak we weren’t going FAST enough
How it happenned:
**Da’ swim: **Tri-Oeiras.com rocked the house, with three guys on the top three positions and with a chance of getting cleared at the front by themselves out of T1.
**Da’ bike: **With one guy loosing (myself… DAMN!!) contact with the other two out of T1, there were only two pushing as hard as they could to gain precious time. Thru T2 they were 1’ ahead off a second group. That second group (± 8 guys) included three guys (sergio was there) of our team so things were in control.
Da’ run: Four guys in the top5. Oh yeah baby now that’s how we DOMINATE things around here ;-)))
DA’ PICS:
Shoes clipped on, helmet ready, sunglasses set… le’s dress the wetsuit!
Always with a good vibes between the guys (and girls) before the start…
The start is minutes away… get focused!
Rocking the house, Tri-Oeiras.com leads out of the water!
Rocking the house part II, GO HARD or don’t go at all.
If you are waving at the crowed you are going TOO SLOW!
The chasing group.
We rock
