What do you do with the thin strip of sticky backed foam that came with it?

don’t know what you are talking about? You mean a sticker to cover the opening to the valve of the tube? I just put the covers on and leave the opening exposed.

Don’t use it… apparently it’s supposed to make for a better seal between the cover and the rim surface, but I see real need for it. the little screws secure it sufficiently. apparently most folks just leave it off too
