A price would be nice…
Interesting. Wasn’t someone affiliated with this company posting here a while back promising a new, amazing power meter? I guess this is it.
I’m intrigued by the promise of making the software/firmware open-sourced. Don’t quite like the way they’ve implemented some feature? Change it. Think there’s a feature missing? Add it. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
But I agree; pricing would be nice.
Open sourcing the head unit software is a nice touch. Assuming the unit works well enough to be useful it should be interesting to see what variations people come up with.
They forgot MP3 compatibility so I can store all my favorite songs. ![]()

We have been waiting for this for a while. One of the inventors posted about 6 months ago with a teaser. Looks pretty sweet. Integrating GPS with a power meter is huge. Looking forward to the reviews.
yup, i remember those posts. let’s see where they price it! there’s a press release on their website … “Quarq takes aim at SRM and Powertap.”
That’s awesome. The guy (Jim, I think) posted on here in the spring that he was going to go develop a new power meter, got a bunch of suggestions from people. He advertised on his blog for a programmer to work on it in South Dakota this summer too. I am amazed that he expects to be actually selling them by December. Sweet! Nice work Jim!
wow it certainly look very cool and I like the features such as the GPS + TSS, NP, IF.
Oh boy, an open source Linux box with GPS and wireless 2.4 GHz. My next feature request is a navagation system telling me where to turn and how to find the nearest pizza place.

Agreed. Garmin map source compatibilty for maps would be the next logical step. And internet access would be next of course…

Hmmm… GPS, need to buy a seperate crank and Wireless, so us poor people should go buy regular old PTs right now then?
What, nobody’s going to chime in with how if it’s only measuring one leg it must be crap? ![]()
How you figure?
Curiuos what the cost will be.
If the price was right, I might take a leap of faith.
Never mind. There’s a reason I’m not an engineer. After visualizing it in my head for a moment I realized I’m an idiot. For the record- it was a joke; I have an Ergomo.
Looks very sweet indeed. Price point will be of major interest.
No web-browser built in?? Bunch of arse!
