A message for all women 25-29

Stop training so much … otherwise I will never get to Hawaii!!! Seriously … why have the qualifying times dropped by over 20 min this year? To get a 1 of maybe 3 slots in out age group you have to now race under 10:20 … this is madness…lol!

So I guess your username isn’t that accurate then.

LOL … that would be true … you wont see me finishing under 10:20 anytime soon … although I have this great new coach so you never know

Yeah I am lucky enough to enter the 35-39M age group next year. But my plan to qualify when I am 70 is still alive!
M~

I remain positive and believe I will qualify in the next 3-4 years BUT if not I will see you in kona in 35 years
.

No way dude…that ones all mine. I figure I’ll have a whole new set of quesions by then. Dentures or not? Racing with a colostomy bag? Since I will be well versed in pissing on the bike…depends shouldn’t be an issue.

Well Markus, that is my strategy too. Keep doing this shit till everyone else drops off and then qualify in 30 years at 70-74. At least I will get there 5 years earlier, so I can let you know if that strategy works.

Wow 10:20 for ladies 25-29 is scary fast. I am assuming we are talking about IMC ?

CDA & Canada this year
.

let me tell you, you’ve yet to enter the most competitive age group among women! Stay strong girl, it’s a rough ride!

kk- 35-39 and still trying!

That may be true for CDA, but was 10:30+ for 1st; however, 2nd at IMC and other Ironmans like Arizona, Wisconsin and Lake Placid are just under 11 hours (10:55ish) for 1st in your age group. And in my opinion having done all of these races but Arizona, Wisconsin and Lake Placid are not that much harder than CDA or IMC. So you should do one of these if you want to increase your chances of qualifying for Kona. CDA has gotten faster all across the board!

A good friend of mine qualified at CDA. She finished fifth with 10:48 (W35-39) and go it on the roll-down of one spot. Neither men’s or womans times seem to slow down all that much as we age up.

What race are you doing next year  ?

well i am of course signed up for CDA … but I dont have a shot either way this year … just noticing an upward trend and trying to figure out what i need to work towards

Thank god you girls are doing different races next year, LOL! But I see you chose the same strategy for qualifying

audentia and 2fast4u are going to have a mudfight at the camp???
Cool…we should be able to get more people attending

Oh, and smile and wave at 40 yr old men.

well then i guess you better hope we do well … lol

Don’t come to IM Austria either. First W-25 this year in at 9:47, second in 10:01, third in 10.06.

A healthy competition is always good  I already have my rival picked for Placid next year… a girl I’ve been racing against every since I started tris in Boston… She constantly gets top 9th in our AG in Placid… even with a stress fracture. Tough cookie!

Also, please don’t kick us in the head when you pass on the swim.
