A Memorial Day Weekend Thought

Tomorrow, it will be absolutely delightful to wake up and ride my bike for 5 hours in what is expected to be beautiful, compliantly warm Southern California weather. I might even do the same thing on Sunday and Monday…

That’s what Memorial Day Weekend is all about,… for me at least. And, I suspect others might have similar plans

Wherever you are tomorrow and whatever you do: out on your bike, open water swim, or a quick run so you are not late for the barbeque…or perhaos even racing!!: Please take a moment to remember those who have given their lives in service to our country. Also, think about those who presently serve for their sacrifices and the sacrifices made by their families and loved ones.
Past warriors have given all of their tomorrows for our tomorrows and those who are close to us. Current warriors risk giving all of their tomorrows for tomorrows we civilians have not yet contemplated.

The Sentinels Creed:

My dedication to this sacred duty is total and wholehearted.
In the responsibility bestowed on me never will I falter.
And with dignity and perseverance my standard will remain perfection.
Through the years of diligence and praise and the discomfort of the elements,
I will walk my tour in humble reverence to the best of my ability.
It is he who commands the respect I protect.
His bravery that made us so proud.
Surrounded by well meaning crowds by day alone in the thoughtful peace of night,
this soldier will in honored glory rest under my eternal vigilance.

Very well said.

A timely post! My dad was a veteran of two wars. My hat off to him (RIP).
I’m out the door for a 2 1/2 hour workout before my wife leaves town to play in a field hockey tournament for the next 3 days, so I’ll be watching my 2 and 6-year-old all weekend. Weather’s looking epic right now at 5:30am though!

Thanks Dude.

Again, my gratitude to all warriors: Past, Present and Future.

Thanks for your thoughts
and may god bless all the fallen
.

Thank You.

Which reminds me of this great rendition of a wonderful song::
