If slowguy wants to put his review here I’m all for it.
I thought it was very good and then the ending kind of ruined all of it. I will leave it at that for now.

Agreed, wife and I looked at each other and said what the heck?
I wasn’t tracking this movie. I generally like Ferguson and Elba, so maybe I’ll check it out.
I was figuring for it to end that way and was still disappointed. Up till then it was gripping. Why didn’t they send up more than 2 interceptors!
Agree. What ending? The movie just stopped.
I went to a boarding/day student high school, and Friday and Saturday nights they showed movies in the auditorium (and not your normal HS movies; I recall seeing Walkabout there). One night, the lights go down and the movie (Zabriskie Point) starts. A woman drives away from a hill, stops, looks back, a big house on the hill explodes…and the credits roll.
Turns out the projectionist put the last reel on first.
Elba was great, as always. I generally like Rebecca Ferguson but this movie showed she cannot do an American accent for shit. All her dialogue started out American-ish and then slipped into her Swede/Brit accent. It was noticeably annoying.
I was like “Is there a part two coming out soon? WTF just happened?”
It didn’t make me as angry as The Sopranos ending as I only invested two hours as opposed to eight years but it was still infuriating.
They answered that in the movie. The US only had 50 of them (I think that was the number) and have to worry about using too many at first in case we need to use more later.
the editing overlaps were fun, especially the idris reveal in part III
i might watch it again to see if there were hints about what he decided along the way
poor Jared Harris, always the same story
I was not expecting the Jared Harris moment.
I think President Elba (
) decided to wait it out. He did not seem to be leaning towards immediate retaliation. Sucks for Chicago though.
will it get more sh*t for being w o k e or for all the Brits in title roles?
I came down on the opposite side … I think he went full in on well done.
I did not like the way the movie concluded
Why have the B2 pilots? Something got edited
Same for FEMA character
A full salvo of an ohio plus 12 minutemans is over 100 warheads…that seems like overkill but that was what Reeves recommends?
Also FLOTUS wouldn’t have such shitty communications
The best way for the next movie to start is President ordered a massive strike on North Korea and the missles are outbound and a) the inbound warhead is a dud and b) it’s determined that someone besides NK launched.
you’re right, there must be a sequel. There’s no way they’d mock up the B2 – with hangar – only to literally leave it up in the air.
what would happen if a nuclear bomb hits lake michigan? not good, but less bad?
Yes but they acknowledged the success rate was about 50 percent. So 2 rockets isn’t a lock to take down the incoming missile. When the price for failure is nuclear war that is bad math.
Watched it last night. Best movie I’ve seen in a long, long time. They held the suspense until the last second.
It was pretty obvious around 20 minutes in to the movie that it would end in a cliffhanger.
I think the B2 scenes were pretty good. Their last scene seemed to connect with the human and decision making them of the movie.
The FEMA character, I have no idea. She disappeared underground and that was about it. Seemed totally pointless to include the character, but I suppose it brought a non-high level government or military perspective to the movie.
Perhaps but it seemed abbreviated and didn’t add much to the storyline
Fair enough. Just think, has Canada been building up our military for the past 80 years or so, that could have been Toronto being the target and not Chicago!
