A few more Kona pics and carbo dinner report

http://homepage.mac.com/ironclm/PhotoAlbum26.html

I talked to the JAG dude, David James Elliott, last night leaving the carbo dinner. He’s doing the race and his bike had been lost when I was at the shop on Wednesday. His bike (CERVELO) has been found. He’s much taller/bigger than I thought he would be. But very handsome.

Yesterday was a day off of working out. My first day off since about the beginning of August, but lots to do. Got an A.R.T. treatment. My leg is pretty swollen and my arm hurts. Getting another treatment today. Picked up mom and dad from the airport, had lunch. In the morning, went to the Masters Women’s Breakfast. Fun time and Mark Allen spoke and he’s a good speaker. In the afternoon, went with Paulo to the Ultrafit/Joe Friel/Gordo open house and got to catch up with a number of folks, including Marty and Bri and lurker Marianna. Went to the Timex team presentation/conference to see Sergio on stage. HE LOOKED GREAT!!!

Last night was the carbo dinner. When Acorn and I got to walk through the ATHLETES ONLY entrance, instead of the other entrance that I’ve always walked through before, that was a big thrill. But, I think everything hit me all at once and I suddenly felt sick and I could barely eat. Started feeling less stressed after Mike Reilly read a letter from that guy in Iraq who did the 1/2 IM the same day as his wife did the Florida 1/2 IM. Well, they are both doing IM and he’s doing his in Iraq. Made me think of my friend Steve who is also over there. Then, the IM Hall of Fame award went to Jim McLaren and they showed a clip from the ESPN Espy Awards. Not a dry eye anywhere.

Today is a short swim, short run and a bit of a bike ride. Need to get A.R.T., then finish packing and check in the bags. The time is here…

Cathy, have fun.

Are you still hurting from you bike crash?

Just finish tomorrow!!

Dave

Thanks everybody!! It will be a great day!!!

Dave–my leg is sore, but a little better than yesterday. I just love my coach…his comment was that it is something to keep me occupied out there on the bike.

Bike and bags are turned in, now I’m “relaxing” with SAC and Helger here at Lava Java. Meeting up with KestrelKerri in about an hour for dinner.

Cathy, what number are you?

Hey Cathy. Good luck. You put a lot into this sport and deserve your trip to the lava fields. Enjoy each pedals rev. That headwind will just lift you up and bring you back into T2 and the heat in the lavafields is just the exhaust blast as you charge down toward the finish !

Enjoy
