A few (admittedly rotten) photos from Interbike

These were shot low-resolution at 1600 ISO rating. Sorry for the quality… (or lack thereof).

My new friends at Motionbased.com debuted the Garmin 301 Forerunner WITH heartrate and spread the good word about Motionbased.com:

Holy wheel collection:

That White Renn discc looks nice, kind of silver in the picture. Would look thee dog’s on a Lightspeed!

I noticed a lot of white carbon, which doesn’t do it for me. I like the stealthy looking stuff much better.

Did you see the wheel in the Zipp disc with the triangular wing thing in the middle of the spokes spinning around the hub? I don’t know what it was for, but it looked cool!

Speaking of wheels, the Easton wheels looked pretty good. As did the Reynolds.

Oh … in the Giant booth, did you notice the carbon brake calipers on the the team replica TT bike. They looked very clean and supposedly equalled Shimano in power (according to Giant staffers). As far as the biggies went, I thought Giant had the best looking bikes. And Trek was kinda bland.

Tom–Have you considered a wireless up link for your laptop. You could be the man on the scene. And you travel so much, we could live vicariously at race venues around the world. Slowman would pay you, no doubt, since it would generate so many “hits”, or at least pay for the equipment and the monthly charges.

…and you can tell him I said so.

Speaking of wheels, the Easton wheels looked pretty good.

They did look nice. It took me a second to realize where I’d seen them before. They’re Velomax wheels.

Did you notice how many carbon wheels there were? If I had to guess, I’d say there were about 40 options for deep dish carbon rimmed wheels.

Missed you at the show, Tom. What did you think of that funky new Blackwell fork?

Was it this?

Interesting. Is that thing legal?

It certainly didn’t look to be legal for anything other than tris.

They’re Velomax wheels.

I guess that explains the Velomax labeled hubs! I didn’t realize Easton had incoporated Velomax into the business.

I did notice a large volume of carbon wheels … I’d venture to say there is still only 4-5 real options.

it’s not uci legal, which could be good marketing for the tri market. “so good it’s not legal”.
