A couple rental questions about racedaywheels.com

I am renting a set of 909’s from racedaywheels.com in a few weeks and had some questions for those who have used them. I know I will probably get more info from them in the near future…but I like to know in advance!

Arrival - I am having them shipped to me…when did your’s arrive?

Shipping method - Who did they use and did someone have to sign?

Return shipping - Cost?? and who did you use? I am leaving directly from the race for a two week vacation in BFE so I need to pre-scout a drop shipment place.

Thanks in advance!

  1. I drove to IMLP last year so I needed the wheels about 5-6 days before the race. I told Raceday Wheels this and they arrived plenty early…I believe on the Monday before the race.

  2. I can’t remember which company they used though it might have been UPS. No one had to sign for the delivery. I was surprised to arrive home from work on Monday and find the wheels in my front porch, no signature required.

  3. I shipped my wheels back the day after the race via a UPS Store in Lake Placid. I can’t remember the cost but it may have been around $50 or so. The UPS Store did not have any boxes that would fit the wheels but I was able to scrounge one up from a local bike store.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info! I figured that I’ll return shipped them in the original box, no?

I got mine about 4 days before I needed them and returned them they day after I returned home via FedEx about $50.
I had good luck with them, nice people to work with.

I also believe that if you are renting them for a NA Sports race you can pick them up at the race site.

They shipped to me via UPS. When done, just re-pack them in the same box. And it is possible that instead of shipping them back, RDW might have you ship them directly to the next customer. That’s what they had me do. No problems…

They ship them via FedEx Ground and suggest you do the same. We shipped back a set a couple of days ago and it was $9, although it was Colorado Springs to Boulder. We ordered a set of 650s, and got them at least week prior to the race date. I’m sure it depends on the wheelset you’ve ordered and the number of other events around the same date.

not much to add other than RDW provides excellent service and wheels. I’ve used them 6 times, sometimes having the wheels shipped, and sometimes picking them up at races (Marc runs the Raceday cafe which is, at least, at IMAZ). If he ships them, they’ve arrived anywhere from 4-7 days before the race. If he’s at the race site, I’ve gotten them anywhere from 2-3 days before the race, and drop them off the next morning.

When shipping I’ve returned them ground in the box provided - always used Fedex.

Again, awesome service. Wheels have always been in excellent condition or brand new, never ridden.
