A big thanks and an update

Many of you know of my wifes plight with her back. She went through hell to find help. Travelled, sent records, made hundreds of phone calls. Well, it’s finally over. Two weeks ago she underwent her coxxyx removal in Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, Fl. The operation was successful and she is recovering as best as she can.

15 years of pain have been removed and she can finally look forward to her future.

Some of you were very helpful and sent me links to Drs and gave me encouraging thoughts and PM’s, THANK YOU!

She is looking forward to NYC marathon 2013.

Awesome possum!

Wow, that’s awesome. No issues with nerve damage, I presume? Congrats to you both & best wishes for a quick and full recovery.

The Drs biggest concern was infection and so far we have been good. The wound is clean, dry and closed. No side effects.

One more fight, the addiction. She’ll kick it’s ass.

Excellent.

Narc addiction can be a bear, but I think her athletic background and goals (and support system) afford her a clearer path forward than most. Really happy for both of you - keep us posted on her progress.

That is wonderful news. I bet it must be a huge relief to know that she can get back to normal after enduring pain for so long. Congratulations to both of you, and hats off for being her support through all of this - she is lucky to have you.

Dude, you’re a good husband. Good luck on her going the distance.

Amazing and wonderful, maybe sometime you can post your journey to the hospital you found. I know when I last heard the story you were pretty much at the end of the rope with no real solid direction to go.

Fabulous!

I am very happy for you and your wife. Your post made my day.

awesome.

Great news. Congrats, and we look forward to more positives as you move forward!

This has to be liberating for both of you. For her, as she’ll hopefully be rid of the chronic pain and all that goes with it (inactivity, feelings of guilt, etc.) And it’s liberating for you, as it’s really taxing and trying to live with a loved one that suffers from chronic pain…
