My first HIM was a great experience (5:04 net time). The 5430 Long Course race in Boulder was well-organized, first-timer friendly, great course and had the excitement of a really cool Pro field.
After the race I was walking to the transition area to clean up my stuff and I spotted Michael Lovato chatting it up with some friends. I stopped, shook his hand, introduced myself and my wife snapped a photo of us together. He has no idea who I am but he was very approachable and more than willing to take the time to say hi to a “fan”. A great way for me to cap off a really fun day at “The Rez”.
