9-speed or 10-speed: watcha got on your tri-bike?

9-speed or 10-speed: watcha got on your tri-bike?

How about your road bike?

9 speed baby!

I still have the FIRST year 9 speed DA STI. Shit is still kickin!

10 on both
.

8 on the road.

Had been 7 on the bike used for tris; now that’s on the trainer and the tri bike has 10. Can’t really notice the difference, except it takes a little longer to dial in the shifting.

9 on my soloist

10 on my p3sl
.

I have a 9 speed 12-27 cuz I do several hilly tris. I really needed a 12-23 at SOMA, i was constantly hunting between the 15 and 17 rear. I really needed a 16 on that course. My cadence was either too low or too high about half the time on that flat course. If I do it again, it’s getting a 12-23 (or 12-21–I never used the small ring), or maybe it needs a 10 speed?

Ultegra 10 on tri bike

DA 10 on road bike

9 on both

Sounds like you need a 10 speed w/ Compact cranks and a bike with a seat tube…j/k

10 speed on all 3.

All 3? Did you sell the other 2? ; )

No, they are multiplying like rabbits.

TT bike - 8 speed 12-19 straight block for racing which really helps maintaining a consistent cadence, since I put the shifters in friction mode I can use my 8-10 cog cassettes

All other bikes - 10 speed
