We just built a set of 715 gram wheels for a customer (trumping our old 776 gram wheels). I know they’re not aero tri wheels, but it’s fun to push the boundaries:

Wow! 715 for the PAIR!
Do it again, only this time take a buffer to the rims with some cutting compound for a while to shave off another 5 or so grams. ![]()
Man…I’d break them first turn of the pedal. That’s just sick…I don’t even know if ONE of my wheels weighs in that low.
Did that blog post say the front hub weighs 33 grams??

Indeed the front hub is 33 grams. My scale actually flickered between 32 and 33 grams… I’d definitely consider using a “heavy” hub, like a Tune Mig 45 (45 gram) or better yet an Alchemy Elf (60 gram) hub. But when you’re going for the lightest, you pull out all the stops.
