you are right…the picture dosnt show well how choppy the water was today…as far as shortening the swim…not a chance…at least for the elite… it wasnt dangerous in anyway…just challenging…

What a couple of dorks…

For a bike course update…

My wife and I drove almost all of it this afternoon/early evening. It is flat, with the exception of the causways. Should be very fast. Pavement seemed to be in great shape. However, the traffic was horrible! Now, it was around 5pm (rushour?), but man, it was relentless. I am not sure how they are going to block all of the traffic. Most of the roads a 3-laners, and I am slightly concerned about turning into those massive intersections. Maybe just block one or two lanes? I would never have guessed that Clearwater was so busy. I am sure the race organizers have it figured out.

I have to agree that everything has been very professionally run and things also look very professional. Assuming the race goes well, i can see this becoming very popular. It is cool to see so many people from so many countries. I have never been to Kona, but it must be so cool.

Weather was absolutely beautiful today. 75 with a nice breeze. Can’t wait to swim tomorrow morning.
