I’m trying to decide between these two for my A race this year. Could anyone who has raced either one provide some insight. The race reports out there are fairly sparse. I understand Salzburg had abysmal weather in 2012 but haven’t been able to find anything on the Luxembourg race.
You’re right, the weather was bad in salzburg. Organisation was not that perfect (too few toilets,…) but otherwise it was ok. From my point of view the scenery is not the best, but somewhat ok. Course is pretty flat and fast.
Luxembourg has its premiere this year. So, no race reports so far.
Salzburg is completely flat on the bike and run (swimming also has only little elevation :-D), which seemed to me almost impossible with the nicest climbs in the alpes so close. But people want to finish fast, I guess. A lot of the people of my club go there again, also very nice to combine with a vacation.
