IM Florida is pretty bad already… with half-Ironman being even faster and closer, that was to be exspected.

I guess most of the athletes are pissed off, too. Imagine you fly around the world for this? I´ll stay in the hills for shorter races…

I was down in the Clearwater area 2 years ago (Mum in law lived near there then) when this was first offically announced, and I mentioned then that I had no interest in being on that kinda course there.
(thankfully the out-laws relocated to the Asheville area, so I think that was my first and last visit to Clearwater)

I don’t think it isn’t necessarily their fault. If you have a competitive AGs (30-39) filed with 200-300 athletes in top shape, many of them are going to ride at a similar speed. Then what do you do? Drop back the 10 mts and keep doing that until you are at the very end of the train? Unless you are a VERY strong cyclist you certainly won’t be able to pass and drop everyone right? how do you fix it?
You guys are bad - but I did see Mike Hunt racing in the M30-35 AG though …
