56 or 58 P3?

okay, I understand I could get a few lectures, but thought I might ask anyways…

my last fit was on a speed concept 9.9, size large. It fit me pretty well, with one small spacer in the aero bars. I am a hair over 6’, with avg ratio of lower/upper body.

I was looking earlier at some guidelines going off of your height for the p3 sizing, and that said I should get a 58. Was trying to do some searching here in the forum, but am more confused with some of the threads I found.

If anyone might have some experience with this, or advice, I would appreciate it.

It’s low and long. At 6’, in a vacuum, and that is a huge disclaimer that assumes this is the right ride in the first place - 56.

“Anyways” is not a word. Quit it. No more advice until you promise…

The Speed Concept and Cervelo P3 fit very, Very, VERY differently. The Cervelo, as already mentioned, is long and low. The Trek SC is more tall and narrow.

I understand that. I actually thought I could have ridden a larger speed concept, and also ridden it lower.

I had also ridden a cannondale slice 56, and did not like it much. Seemed too short a cockpit, think 58 would have been more comfortable. I could not get stretched out on that one.

Cannondales are even further down the tall & narrow spectrum than the Trek SC.

You may just have the body type that works best with Cervelo or Felt. Have you tried a Felt?

yes I have actually, it was a 56. 2011 B12. It seemed to be comfortable. Would that equate to me looking at 56 on the P3?

thanks GMAN

“Probably”
.

If you were fit on an SC, you can use those fit coordinates and the stack and reach tables here to see what is the closest match to a P3.

With that said, I am 6’-1" with about a 34" inseam and had a 58 P3, but it was too big. I should’ve had a 56.

I have a p2 and I am 6’1…been riding my 56 for a while now. At first I thought a 58 because my rode bike was so much larger than my TT bike.

I would go with the 56…

I am between 6’1" and 6’2" and the 56cm P3 fits me great, FWIW.

look up the stack and reach of your trek that fit you well

find the p3 that is closest.

you can’t use height to guess tri bike size.

If your preferred position is like: /
you will ride a different size than if your preffered position is like: —

among other variables like upper arm length, torso length, preferred seat height, crank length.

If you posted your fit measurements it would help.

I am about the same height, leg length as you. The 56 fit me perfectly. I rode it with no spacers and 16cm of drop. If I wanted to ride with less drop I would get the P2C. Start at the front of the bike and work backwards.
