You are bidding on a 2003 Steel Cervelo 54cm Italian made at Columbus. This Limited edition frame retailed for $2200. The frame is not only hard to find but is unequalled in its beauty. This one was originally purchased in 2005, this gem had been lost Cervelo’s warehouse. Along with the brand new build kit, this bike could easily sell for over $4,000!!!
Production of this frame was limited to 100 because of the High dollar labor, material cost and to guarantee exclusivity.
The frame 54cm 2002 limited edition (only 100 in the entire world) Cervelo Renaissance. The material used is a unique Columbus Thermcrom. The tubes were shaped, butted, drawn specifically for Cervelo. The material was drawn into the form that Phil and Gerard designed it to be as light and efficient as steel can possibly be. The welding was left to the finest makers of steel at Columbus tubing in Italy. This is the only Cervelo made in Italy. The welding process used was brazed sillet brass which ends up being lighter than a TIG weld because the joining material (sillet brass) is lighter.
If you are a Cervelo steel fan then you are probably wondering: how this frame is different from the super prodigy? The entire rear tri-angle is thermacrom on the Renaissance unlike the super prodigy. The chain stays are a different, wider oval tapered to round on the Renaissance. This provides more lateral stiffness. The Renaissance is not nickel plated. The super prodigy was TIG welded. Renaissance is significantly lighter.
This bike has never been ridden in the rain, never dropped and is 99% like new. The paint is flawless other than a spot where the barrel adjuster threads into the frame and another tiny spot in the top tube (see in picture). This could be easily be touched up. I treated this bike like a classic car; only taken out for casual weekend strolls.
Frame measurements
54cm top tube, 53.5cm bb center to top of top tube. Standover height is 31". It is very responsive and is worthy of any great race.
