53cm Cervelo P3SL F.S

Against my better judgement I am parting with my three year old Cervelo P3SL. It is in excellent condition with the exception of the dropout screw threads, which have been re-taped (this was a weak spot on all P3SLs).

Frame only with seatpost: No fork.

Make an offer. Here is a photo of the complete bike:

Excuse my ignorance here, but what does the SL stand for? I’m assuming it is an aluminum frame? Sorry, I’m not a Cervelo expert.

I always thought it stood for “SuperLight”. maybe not???

What was your cost?

It did stand for “Super Light” owing partially to a very slightly lighter finish- the powder coat versus paint. I think the weight difference boiled down to a matter of grams so it was pretty inconsequential.

Hi Matt,

You know, I bought this bike 3 years ago here in the store directly from Cervelo and I have no recollection what I paid for it.

Ok - no problem. Thanks.

Does it take a 1" or an 1 1/8" steering tube?

This is the original 1" design said to be more aero.

Here is a review of this specific (actual) bike frame being sold. The review is of the actual sale bike:

I truth it dosen’t matter what Tom paid for it. Something is worth what someone else will pay for it. If I bought my P3SL frame for $10,000, should I expect someone else to pay me $900 for it? I am sure Tom paid less than someone not in the bike business would pay for it, but that doesn’t change the value of the frame.

Well, obviously, I paid no more than our landed wholesale for it. I don’t recall what that was.

Tom:

I read the review; it was good. In it, you mention that the head tube is 89mm. Do you know what the top tube length is? Either the virtual top tube dimension or the actual dimension (center to center). I currently ride a 54 Dual and I’d be interested to compare top tube lengths.

I’ll measure it and report back.

FWI: I’m finally, somewhat regretfully, selling the bike after getting my new Guru Crono custom tri bike with some much appreciated geometry updates.

Good luck with the sale Tom. Is your new Guru going to be 700c or 650?

Also, what size wheels? 700c?

700c.

Tom,

I sent you a PM the other day. Any reply would be great.

Will do. I haven’t checked my PM’s in a while… Sorry.

PM sent.

I just went through and answered a bunch of PM’s (there are about 350+ in my box…) so I am sure I got to your message. Thank you very much.

Tom.
