50 lbs lighter and WAY faster!

So my good bud Toddykins raced at Mooseman this weekend. It was our “1 year anniversary” for each of us of entering the sport of triathlon. 1 year ago I was smoking a pack of cigarettes a day and people were lucky to get me out on the golf course let alone out for a run. My past time was more likely spent at the bar or sleeping. Toddy, as I like to refer to him as, weighed 225 lbs, which, to be frank, was pretty heavy for a guy who is only 5’7. To do Mooseman last year was a major accomplishment and is what kick started a year of new obsession and changed lifestyles.

Last year Toddy finished the race biking just under 17 mph and ran over 11 minute miles. While the swim was unfortunately cancelled (though correctly called), Toddy biked a PR of over almost 21 mph and ran a PR in the 10k - 8:50 miles! He has dropped 50 lbs, now weighing in at 175, and is training for IMLP. MASSIVE props to him. Its an incredible accomplishment in just 365 days.

Way to go Toddy!

That is a great story – props to you both!

Thank you! He deserves big props. I know there are many stories out there similar to his, but I continue to be amazed at how Triathlon transforms people’s lives!!

Nicely done!

Couldn’t agree with you more, 16 months ago I was 230 pounds…way out of shape. Got hooked on Tri’s and now I’m 185 and posted a 5:23 at the Rev 3 Half-Iron yesterday!
