Where can I get my hands on some spent casings? I just need 4 and they must be nickel. Would a range have some laying around that they would let me have or is that against some sort of policy?

Might be tough.

I’m saving all kinds for future reloading.

I’ll check. If not, I’m going to the range at 1100 tomorrow.

Go to a public range and generally someone leaves some. Plus, at our ranges, the RO usually keeps any brass people leave so if a busy day there will likely be some in their bucket. Nickel plated are not as common… I’ve collected about 500 brass .45 ACP and I don’t even have a 45 yet.

They arent for reload. They’re for a custom knife and will be embedded in the handle. Its a christmas gift. Nickel will match better than brass and wont tarnish in the same way.

No nickel at the range. I have brass and aluminum. Let me know if you want them

I just looked at the rounds in my home defense magazine and the are nickel plated. At least, they appear to be. They are Hornady Critical Defense with the 185 gr FTX bullet.

They aren’t cheap, but i think you are going to throw down for some fancy rounds anyway to get the nickel plating.
