I know a disk is the fastest wheel. But the 404 bearings are unbelievable and the 2001 Zipp disk bearings are just cartidge bearings. I’m wondering if with the weight difference and the bearing difference if the 404 might not be the faster. Any thoughts?
On a flat course, the disk will always be faster. On a rolling course the disk will still probably be faster.
808… The happy medium??
The 808 may be a good compromise but i don’t have one. I’m trying to devise a test to compare the 404 vs disk. Maybe something like repeat mile runs. Any suggestions? The 404 bearings sure are smooth. I did some RR testing and 120psi came out the best for me.
