$3.36 for gas in South Hampton, NY

   I almost crashed the truck when I saw it.  In Nassau county, Long Island it's $2.55.  In Woodstock it's about 10 cents cheaper.  In Manhatten it's about 10 cents more.   In Jersey it's way cheaper and they pump it for you. 

   How much is gas near you?

2.59 a gallon in California, 2.79 if you live in a ritzy neighborhood. It’s still cheaper than it was in the 70’s if you count inflation.

Do what I do…dont look…put your bank debit card into the pump, take out the highest octane nozzle and fill er up…cant change it, no reason to bitch about it.

At least you can find gas. For the past two weeks, between 60 and 95% of all the gas stations in my area have had empty tanks. I’m just glad I’ve got 2/3rds of a tank left in my Corolla, which should last until we start getting fuel barges into my area again.

I’m not sure about gas, but Diesel is $5 a gallon here (and it’s cheaper than gas).

Just imagine how much gas would be if the cost of wars to stabilize and secure oil supplies were paid for at the pumps rather than by borrowing from your kids…

Currently at a homestay in Chattanooga, drove 20 miles to the georgia border line and filled up.

For the super unleaded 89 octane stuff. 87 octane regular unleaded is $2.15/gal. Probably $2.01 in Des Moines which is usually a bit cheaper for super unleaded and $2.11 for regular unleaded. If you want the 93 octane stuff its going to be in the $2.25/gal range.

Still sold out of gas everywhere in the county, but rumors whispered behind closed doors say that a fuel barge just make make the Citgo terminal in Niceville some time tonight.

Also rumors that the governor’s office is investigating some sort of Enron-like actions by Walmart involving their attempts to control the local fuel market so that the only gas available is at their stores.

And the Sherpa is now empyting out the lawnmower can in order to get another four gallons into his VW.
