2XU Super Elite Trisuit: Anyone got one yet?

Want one, but, $250 for a trisuit, ouch. Anyone actually try out one of these babies? Does the “positive bouyancy roll-bar” really do anything? How is the chamois?

Thanks.

I’ll consider spending the $250 when I look like he does in it.

Havent tried it yet but I have seen it in person and I will be buying one for next season. I have a few items from the tri line and I think it might possibly be the best tri clothing out there! Ive worked in a couple tri shops and had the chance to try almost every brand out there and I can say that 2xu is far superior in comfort and quality. It is expensive for a tri suit but it looked worth it!

I really want to see one in person. Is there a chamois and, if so, how much? What does the “positive bouyancy roll-bar” feel like? Can you really feel a thicker material? Is it like 2mm wetsuit material?

I have 2XU’s Men’s Elite Tri Suit. I know it’s not the same but they might use the same chamois. The material is pretty cool but snags easily. I’m sure this is true with any trisuit though.

The Elite does have an ultra-thin chamois which, amazingly, does a better job than many of the thicker ones in my regular bike shorts. But, so far, I’ve only tested them on a 30 mile ride.

it has a fleece chamois … if i remember it right I think it is pretty much the same as the elite suit. The rollbar doesnt feel like a wetsuit … not really sure how to describe it but much much thinner than a wetsuit.

boyancy body roll… please! train more in the pool and be a better swimmer!
Check out orca.com they are having a sale on all their older stock… bargains to be had peoples!

I never said it would make you faster! BUT triathlon is as much mental as it is physical so if you feel fast you are more likely to be fast. Plus it is a cool looking suit that is well made. If you are buying it because you really believe it will shave any significant time off swim then I agree with squatter that you will be dissapointed.

Exactly!! That’s why I love running in racing flats!

in addition to the buoyancy panel, and being very fast in the water, another huge benefit is the design of the back of the suit, which is called the “x-stretch” panel. it basically separates the top and bottom of the suit by adding an entire panel through the middle of the back. what this does, is allows the suit to fit skin tight for the swim, and still move with your body, and be very comfortable on the bike (i.e: no wedgey). these suits are amazingly breathable as well, I saw people race all of hawaii in them!

I believe that Bikesportgirl is going to test one in the Laguna Phuket Triathlon. You should PM her when she gets back next week and see what she says.

Met with a rep talking up their wetsuit at IMFL. They seem pretty competent about explaining the technology behind it and their testing.

I will start looking at them. I have been using Orca for singlets, wetsuits, etc. but have a few issues with their craftmanship.

What, you don’t like how the colors bleed on your Orca clothing? But that is Orca’s main selling point.

One thing I do like about the 2XU Elite and Super Elite is the lack of a rear pocket. Rear pockets do create drag – yes, a minor amount – when you’re riding in the aero position. I couldn’t find another suit that didn’t have rear pockets. + I think 2XU has it going on when it comes to style.

I have the Orca Pflex suite, and both this years and last years Orca Elite singlet.

Colors have NEVER bled. Not Ever.

My complaint is mostly that the material tears pretty easily on the singlets, especially the new one. The decals on the singlets also come off very easy.

The wetsuit is awesome.
