2XU Compression Trisuit

Hey guys

Anyone has any reviews or experiences regarding the 2XU Compression Trisuit? I’ve been thinking of getting one and I’ve got a good deal.
(Plus, Sebastian Kienle wore it during the Vegas Worlds!!)

Cheers!!

I got one by accident instead of the Comp Trisuit I actually wanted (and ordered); even though they’re both the same size, the Compression didn’t fit me well so I sold it to a friend who is very happy with it. Try it on if you can, and get it anyway if you can’t.

I have the 2XU Compression Trisuit and have used for my last 4 triathlons.

I could not be happier with this suit.

  • Fits very well (Size medium - my height 193 cm)
  • Pad in the suit does not irritate me or cause chaffing
  • Feels fast in the pool (may just be my head but my times are faster then my training time trial)

Only thing that I would add, just so you are aware of it, is that this suit has small pockets on the back.

Very nice suit
I have both the compression and the competition one.
If you prefer to have a little bit more padding the compression one is better, and I actually like the fact that it has a pocket unlike the competition one can always throw your garbage or store a gel or two in there…

only minus i have about the two suits is the logos peel of really quickly and it gets annoying as you will have half of it left and half of it gone, with parts peeling falling off whatever…

other than that both great suits.

Wow, cheers for the fast response!

Do you have any issues with it losing its compression after a while?

I dont abuse mine. I only use them for outdoor practice swims and races ( i switch between the two, pending if i want a pocket or not) in the lake and it stays tight. friend of mine uses his in the pool sometimes and other then some discoloration he says its fine and works like charm. I also throw mine in the sink filled with cold water after each swim let it sit there for 30min-1hr and air dry, seems to make them last longer ( at least what i was told… )

Cool, alright!

Thanks for the help! Very much appreciated!

I’ve worn a 2XU Compression Trisuit this past season and was pretty happy with it: it fit well (far better than most I tried); was comfortable; I could feel some support, but it wasn’t too constrictive. The only downside was that at the begin of the bike leg, when the suit would be at its wettest, if my head was at a certain angle I’d get a parachute effect in the chest. After a few minutes that too would disappear as the suit dried.

But I recently bought a Castelli Body Paint Trisuit and, at least for my body, it offers a much better fit. Perhaps the 2XU has lost some of its elasticity, but the Castelli just offers a far more form-fitting, snug fit. With the 2XU, I get slight folds and creases around my waist in the aero position. With the Castelli I get none of that. And the Castelli’s cut, while similar to the 2XU, is a bit higher in the neck, so I haven’t experienced the same parachute effect that I got with the 2XU, even with my elbows tight.

Last December, I used Active.com Schwaggle to get 40% off the 2XU Compression Tri Short and Compression Tri Singlet. The two pieces appear to be equivalent to the trisuit in terms of style and material.

I’ve worn them in just about every one of my 10 races this season (Olympic distance and shorter). They have been great and they are not worn out yet. They are tight-fitting, but comfortable. And they are made of very thin material that dries quickly. I have no complaints.

I did notice quite a few people wearing the same steel-gray uniform as me, though. I’m guessing I’m not the only one who took advantage of the Schwaggle deal.

Next year I might have to go with some custom apparel to distinguish myself from the crowd.
