I cant comprehend that there are people with 35k to enter a race! I figured at 30 years old thats my net worth! Anyone know the date of Kona? the website has it blacked out.
For some people $35K is a $20 bill to you and I.
I see one at $25,350 right now:

Absolutely great news for charity, the YMCA specifically. Last year I think WTC raised around 450K. Wild that someone would pay that much, but it’s all relative to what you’ve got!
Kona is 10/16/04. It is the third Saturday of October now.
Look at it like this:
If you’re a successful and/or wealthy person with several million(or several hundred million) in the bank, buying a charity slot to Kona yields you a tax-deduction and entry into the trendiest race in the world. If you were going to give the money away anyhow, why not get something out of it? Plus, you get quite a bit of media exposure, which may more than justify the cost.
You think that’s expensive…you should see what they pay to climb everest.
