Shimano 700c Clincher, same weight as their carbon clinchers but with the strength and convenience of alloy wheels.
The wheels are built to be lightweight but at the same time with Reynolds quality, They are strong as are light at 1511g for the set. At 30mm deep they are exceptionally aero while still barely tipping the scales.
These are in like new condition. They have very low mileage and are true and round with smooth bearings. These are the 2005 model
Reynolds rims are 100’s of grams lighter than lower-profile, not-so-areo aluminum or carbon-aluminum rims. Because their carbon rims are so strong, Reynolds specs fewer spokes. As light as they are, Reynolds wheels are super-stiff laterally for aggressive cornering.
The 30mm Alta rims are aero-deep, but not so deep they’re spooky in crosswinds, or so heavy they’re tiring for repeated accelerations.
The wheels are ideal for triathlons and time trials but are also strong enough and stiff enough for road races and criteriums. The deep rim cuts through the air to add to wind cheating aerodynamics. The unidirectional carbon deep-v rim provides unsurpassed stiffness and strength when sprinting, climbing, and cornering. A rim that was designed to be stable in crosswinds, the 30mm deep-v rim depth and hidden nipples offer a scalpel like aerodynamic profile to the wind. This is great for anyone looking for a strong, aerodynamic wheel to take huge chunks of time off their time trials or help them through breakaways.
