Has anyone seen official results of the 2nd anual 24 Hrs of Triathlon - apparently I heard that 2 short-course specialists Lance Panigutti and Joe McDaniel just went off, taking the race to a whole new level and crushing last years record by an insane 40 miles. It’s only a matter of time before this 24hrs turns into a series like MTB 24 hrs races.

Same catagory as ultras. Sounds cool but the critical mass isn’t there so who cares if you win? Just my reasoning…

I agree,the long stuff won't catch on to the masses,especially in Nth America or OZ.NO respect given in the general athletic communty for some of the really fast guys but as you said there is not enough interest to make the industry take any notice which is needed to make a difference in popularity.
