220 Felt DA test

The Lasest addition of 220 Triathlon has a review of the Felt DA. I was suprised as I know it will not be in the shops in the UK Until the New Year (at least thats what I was told at the bike show). Unfortunatley I do not think 220 are the best bike tester is in bike journalism though they have improved a lot reciently. I think judging by what they have written they proabably tested it the shallower seatpin setting - I am not sure what effedt this would have on the bikes handling as apossed to the steeper setting. It gets a very good write up though they say it was very responsive/bit snakey which can be a good or bad thing depending on the rider & bike course. Not quite sure by their comment that the sidways deflection in the frame adds a bit of ping - are they suggesting the backend has a fair amount of sideways flex? If so I would have thought this would decrease ‘ping’ and make for a more sluggish feel. I thought most manufacturers tried to limit sideways flex?

Have they been any more test published on the DA? It is currently on my short list of possible replacements for my P2K frame. I am looking at the Carbon 78deg seattubed bikes - So far I have the Cervelo P3C and the Felt DA, with possibly the Quintanaroo Lucero and Trek TTX as outside options - any others I should add?.

I was just reading the same article earlier today. I’m a bit sceptical about the review, especially after the part where they say the DA rider put 20m on the Giant Trinity rider at will, and attributed this to the bike. I mean, come on, no bike is going to give that much of a boost, especially against another pretty decent bike.

Word on the street is the first container of DA’s and B2’s is waterborn as of this morning. No kidding.

Tom,

I can’t help feeling how close this response is to “your check is in the mail.”
.

Yep I think you have to take their bike tests with a pinch of salt!

I am keen to hear a few more reports on how the DA rides. I wonder if it will be as hard to get hold of as the Cervelo P3 Carbon seemed to be for a while - I feel A bit of an outsider at work as whilst the other guys in the office are all excited about the release of the latest games consols I am don’t care - bring on the lastest bikes!

Nope, I think it is a bit closer to: “the sun will rise tomorrow”

Perhaps we should have a contest here, be the first to post your picture of the new DA, bike shops not allowed.

First one to post before Christmas gets a _________.

Or maybe not, having one by Christmas is probably gift enough.

It’ll be tough to get one, no question. With the production capacity of a couple of frames and one or two forks a day, catching up to demand will take many months.

If you want a DA or a B2, this isn’t the model to wait for.
