2026 Cervelo P Ultegra DI2 Front End Clean-up Help

I recently purchased a 2026 Cervelo P Ultegra Di2, 58 cm and I really love the look of the bike, I am looking forward to my first outdoor ride. I might have to book a trip south!

The only thing I am not super happy with is the cable routing from the basebar, by the stem and into the frame. I have been looking at integrated solutions and there are several available, but I am not sure which would be the best.

The super solution would be to purchase a Tririg Alpha Prime base bar and use the profile cups and the ASC52 carbon extensions (400 mm) currently on the bike. This is a very expensive solution $2100 US.

I think a more reasonable (economical) solution to integrate the cabling would be with a stem swap. I have looked at the stems below and I am not sure which one would be the best solution. Note: The bike fit currently has the stock Cervelo ST36 stem at 110 mm, the stem length was established on a bike fit at my bike retailer.

Options I have looked at are:

· Profile Design Tri Stem this stem is 105 mm $186 cdn

· Deda Element Superb box comes in assorted lengths $186 cdn

· FSA NS SMR II stem $129 cdn

Can you recommend one of the above options or another alternative to get to a more integrated cable routing solution? Surely someone on Slowtwitch must have some experience in this area. Photo’s would be appreciated

That’s a sloppy build - the di2 cables could at least be inside the risers then shrink wrapped to the brake cables.

I usually put a Tri Stem on these bikes. Though it’s worth noting that I’m in charge of product development at PD so there is a potential for bias there.

PD Wing Ultimate will ship to North America eventually - that way it works with the other parts you have.

I have a new stem that is going to be under rider testing. It has an aerobar add on which hasn’t passed my standards yet thus the hold off on releasing it. I will have 30 sets of 100 mm arriving next month. I would be willing to offer you a stem at discount as a tester to see compatibility. It will hide all those cables nicely. Let me know your thoughts. I am out of the office now so I can only send a 3d screenshot not the actual product.

also an integrated bar that will have a heavy monowing until I get the wing made in carbon I will be testing next month. both options I would consider selling to you as a beta tester.

I ended up buying the BMC Speedmachine Basebar:

its basically a Profile Design A3 basebar. The Di2 cables and brakes hoses can all run within the basebar and the inner sleeve that is needed to run the BMC bars fits the steerer for the Cervelo.
The brake hoses are able to run down the front of the bar as needed and the di2 cables are able to run along the side of the sleeve and out the back to run properly into the frame.
I didn’t mount them yet because I am waiting on the arrival of the A3 reach extender and the A3A BTA Bridge. I’ll get some pictures here soon for you.
If you go that route I’ll buy your base bar maybe to help out a friend building a TT bike to offset your costs.

Wish I knew about this when I had my P-Series. What extensions do you have? This looks like a great option for that bike.

AeroCoach Ascalon with a 25 degree tilt block

build updates as noted I would in the thread
Need to tidy up the cables, finish brakes, pull a couple spacers on each side and figure out what I’m going to do for a BTA setup.

Great setup but do you plan on using a stack bridge?

That will be lowered by about half, I set it up initially like that for the Di2 cables only.
I’ll probably get the TriRig Super-X adaptor plate. Run the riser blocks to the plate then the Aerocoach angle block on top of that in a forward position.

Just a heads up - I would be cautious with the Super-X plate from TriRig. The bolt patterns are a bit off when I tried to pair with FastTT risers/bars. But they most certainly fit perfectly with the older pair of Scoops Ultimate SL I had.

Thanks for the heads up.
I should probably contact TriRig and see if they have a hole spacing diagram with dimensions for the plate.

Any other companies make a Aerobar bridge/plate that have a more diverse drilling pattern?

I actually just thought of something - I don’t think you actually need the Super-X plate (or similar). That plate is specific to the EX10/EX11/EX14 monopost and isn’t universal. If you are looking for a bridge for support, something like this might work: Tall Stack Bridge | Adds Strength And Stability To Aero Bars

I haven’t used it personally, but I do like that it is DIY drilling on it so you get the spacing where you need it.

depending on the spacers you are using now. my system should work, Culprit Adjustable Between the Arm Riser with Dual Stack Bridge – Culprit Bicycles

If you want to put something in amongst the current stackers/tilt block this adjustable bridge effectively replaces one stacker and is totally flush with everything:

Thanks for reposting this - I tried looking on Aerocoach website yesterday when I did my original reply because I thought I remembered seeing the adjustable bridge. Somehow, I must have totally missed it (damn multitasking).

if your aerocoach spacers have a flat interface my current dual stack version should work.

Hi Mike, your P-Series looks really good with the BMC basebar. I’m considering doing the same setup and have a few questions:

  1. Is buying the BMC basebar alone enough to mount it on the P-Series, or are any additional parts or adapters needed?

  2. How is the fork steerer secured from the top with the BMC basebar? Specifically, how do you preload the headset and adjust/remove any fork play?

  3. Is it possible to omit the original plastic spacer that sits between the P-Series frame and the basebar, or is that spacer required?

  4. How much wider is the stem area of the BMC basebar compared with the Cervélo P-Series Bento Box? If possible, could you also share a photo of the setup from directly above? That would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Answers above, I have a BMC bar I can give you to play with if you want.
I had s washer slip when tightening the aerobars causing a tear in the carbon on the bottom where the bolt is mounted from bottom to top.
There’s a few things that were tricky, like routing the brake cable thru the steerer tube mount then routing them thru the bars. I can give you the bars, you can play with them, see if that are worth your time before your buy.

Thanks, I’ll send you a DM regarding the BMC bar.
