Flo Lipo is super solid. Impressive at Romandie. Took it to Ferris a bit. No chinks in the Pogi armour though. He closes on these attacks with incredible fluidity and then punch. Seems like he’s still enjoying himself too.
Pogi isn’t at race weight and is just racing on eco-mode. I love how Lipowitz went for him though.
For all of the fans of Wout magic this spring, Visma released a great documentary of their spring.
I love after Dwars door Mads Pederson telling Wout “I have so much respect for you mate. You’re fucking unbelievable.”
Also, Grischa is fantastic.
Remco also seems committed to the Tour. Apparently 69 days without racing until then to make sure he is fresh, I don’t really think he is GT GC material, but glad he is joining the party. Really can’t see anything past Pogi and Seixas.
Jonas would like a word. Seixas will be lucky to make the podium.
Yeah, hard to look past Jonas for now. I also can’t see Remco beating Seixas either. I’d probably lean towards Lipo for 3rd with Seixas right on his wheel.
That’s my pick for third place
then Lipo. No disrespect to Venga, but I think Seixas will rise to the occasion.
The Redbull dynamic will be interesting. Lipo is rock solid and I think will keep himself in contention. Remco, I think the odds of him having a really bad day at some point are pretty high. I hope he has it in him to be a superdomestique for Lipo.
Tour prognosticating seems a smidge early as the Giro doesnt start until the end of the week, but… rarely stops me. I SURE hope Decathlon does NOT ask Sexias to race GC at 19 against Vinge and Pogi (and Bora’s big dogs and others). Let him lose chunks o time and see if he can win 3-4-5 mountain stages, while seeing how he manages 3 week fatigue at that level. Of course if he hangs in there and there is a mystery mountain tt up le planche des belles fillles at the end - we’ll then maybe being 19 is ok? (think Pogi was 21-22 for that Covid tour win).
Spicy take. I like it (but you’re wrong).
Another outstanding ride on stage 3 of la Vuelta. Highly recommended!
TDF in my opinion is Pogi and Jonas affair assuming Jonas get there with good legs after the giro; then you have the proven ones to some extend Lipo and Remco. After that you have the pretenders Ayuso and Paul.
How do I see it? (assuming no major crash)
- pogi
- jonas
- paul
- lipo
- ayuso
- remco
let see how my predictions goes ![]()
That’s pretty spot on to me. I think Paul and Lipo have a good battle for third. Unless Jonas doesn’t recover well from the Giro which is always possible. Depends on how hard he’s pushed there.
Tomorrow we get a savage day at La Vuelta Femenina in the mountains and the start of the Giro!
Maybe not in GC, but the bids for stage glory will be worth watching with teams deployed in various ways.
Battle for Rosa/Ciclamino begins tomorrow! Milan must be the favourite but Lund and his squad have looked great this year.
I’ll say Milan/Lund/Magnier for my podium.
As for the Vuelta, will be interesting to see if Kopecky can hold onto rojo. Kasia has looked feisty. Kerbaol too.
Kerbaol is my heart pick.
Dylan G is my pick for stage 1
Magnier.
Lund
Milan tears his bike in half and walks across.
