Hauser first out the water, Wilde is 29 secs back.
The turn buoys arrangement looked extraordinary in the women’s (a 140 degree turn on the first one). They’ve repositioned them sensibly for the men.
I note Trevor didn’t ask Dan Atkins why there were no Australian women racing (after he said how useful it was to get a first race in).
Hidalgo new signing in the BMC Pro Tri team (so maybe a 70.3 sometime?)
Vilaca announced/revealed in the BV ‘squad’.
1 lap on the bike front lead the Wilde chase pack by 14 secs.
Milner has gone backwards on the bike, clearly still struggling.
Helens fun fact, Hauser has the fastest 5km run time (although in Hamburg shorter run)
Wilde has made a break with 2 others with a lap to go, has about 10 secs on the chase.
There are zero spectators around this new course, but its very pleasing on the eyes compared to that race track.
Hausser, Wilde and Vilaca have dropped everyone else just over half way through 1st lap on the run.
Vilaca has been dropped onto last lap, its Kiwi Vs Oz!
Just tuning in, will watch women’s race on bus ride to a track meet. Did they not race on the F1 track this year? I’m watching them on run course out in middle of nowhere?? Shit maybe they haven’t been on the F1 track in a few years now…
Wilde drops Hauser about just under a km from the finish.

I think they was last time, but last year was cancelled.
Tertsch 16:06, Eim 16:02, Lindemann 16:02, Periault 16:07, Jorgensen 16:53, Wilde 14:13, Pearson 14:48, Milner 14:14
Fastest run split was Cantero with a 14:05, seems as if he needs a bit of work on his swim-bike but someone to watch in the future. Saw him destroying the u23 field in Torremolinos, might be the new Spanish superstar.
Ben Dijkstra has done alright getting himself in 8th there.
So, we (Britain) have more than enough males for the MTR tomorrow, but only one female, anyone know who the 2nd will be? Or possibly both if Waugh doesnt fancy it?
It would appear all I needed to do was scroll down to find the start list when I went looking for it earlier!
Not heard of either Brit female (Hayes doesn’t even have a picture up) good on the Germans for not putting out their strongest side and making it more a competition! USA actually looks the strongest on paper.
they are your potential future olympians.
