2025 T100 Triathlon World Tour San Francisco

slightly lower than boulder I seem to remember.
edit actually slightly higher at 1700m

Wow that is impressive.

I wasn’t expecting Gentle to have a great race, she has a shocker last year from memory on the same course.

I have no idea what his camps like in China, he can certainly produce winning women triathletes though, whatever he’s does with them!

Derron was just about getting top 10s in ITU last year, to Olympic silver medalist! He’s now got her beating the ‘unbeatable’ Derron could be the next Chrissie/Spirig/Ryf im surprised everyone is shocked she beat Knibb though, I thought it was coming at some point this year.

yeah the typical overnight success…
from what I understand they are working together for 9 years now.

Rico himself said it on the All In Podcast

I was a bit surprised that Knibb didn’t win but I think last year she was focused on the Olympics and hence her top end speed was high and post Olympics move to T-100/70.3 was seamless

Guess if her focus this year is Kona, I am guessing she is doing less speed work and “going long”?

I did expect her to win easily but guess Darron put on a performance that was hard to beat on the day!

Some awesome photo’s in here…Maybe a new Triathlon photographer has been found.

Great content from her, she is super likable. But FFS, can someone get her partner (boyfriend? husband?) an image-stabilized camera. These iPhone videos at high res are nauseating.

She had some good battles out there during the run, and generally looked like she was enjoying herself throughout the day and making the most of the opportunity.

Hang time in SF…

Not much point in comparing paces from different events, course, locations & conditions. T100 SF bike was likely ridden very hard. Hamburg looked to have been biked pretty tactically and in places easy.

Impressive on paper for sure, but not very useful to look at in the real world and make comparisons about.

Fair.
I note that this year Derron ran slower (1:06:37) than Matthews did in T100 SF last year (1:06:00). I guess it was windier this year or the gravel was damper.

One athlete won the race the other did not with those splits …
Seriously it’s fine to sell splits to the masses but you should know better, that they mean very little.

Great watch this I thought…
