2025 bike racing thread *SPOILERS*

C Rod - like the pick. Hope he gets back to 2023 form.

C Rod got a win when Pogi (and Vinge) did the stalemate mark each other out in '23 Tour. Kind of like Skjelly when Pogi and Remco let him not pull and draft the long sprint. Pogi and Remco aren’t used to dudes hanging w/them, but if anyone gets ahead or hangs in there by their fingernails…Maybe he has a chance (though my head tells me that could also be Pidcock). After sticking with Sagan long past his overdue date - I’ve changed my tune to fresh recruits almost every race!

Just watched the highlights from last stage of Tour of the Alps. That must be the most oddball stage race of the year.

It was odd. GC roller coaster. Credit to Tudor for absolutely rolling Ineos with a team effort. First, working to crack Arensman, then once he was cracked, dropping a guy back from the break to pace Storer. Like clockwork. (sorry). This wasn’t Ineos’ A-team. But dang.

I love that the guy who paced Storer nearly to the base of the last climb - something like 16k from the finish - finished an hour behind Storer. That’s properly emptying the tank.

Tudor is looking good this year.

Yes too early for Giro talk… but, does Storer have a legit shot at the podium? that would be beyond epic for Tudor.

It would be great, but I think UAE and Red Bull each have three riders that would be favored over him for a podium spot. And it gets worse from there.
Giro this year is pretty stacked, lots of second tier grand tour hopefuls trying to get a result when Pogi and Vin aren’t on the start list.

That fight for the top 10 at the giro is going to be a battle, lots of guys in with a shot for top 5. 3 weeks without a real solid team around probably rules out guys like Storer but who knows, he’s on great form.

As for La Doyenne:
Pog, Remco, Healy
Pidcock, Gregoire

@ClayDavis - pidcock and gregoire have been 2 i’ve backed several times this year. Pidcock even did me a solid at strade, but otherwise - basically famine. something tells me they know and they’ll come through for you to spite me.

I do think Healy is the closest to reliable one can get after the big 2.
Grace Brown had a pretty big ā€˜upset’ win last year - I wonder if Demi will be in a league of her own this year…

Pog, Remco, Healy
Pidcock, Vauquelin

The Old Lady.

Pogi finally cracks. His face after Fleche was not the face of Ferris after a sunny GT romp. He looked to have been Walloned about the head and neck.

Yeah, right.

Can’t account for Remco who should still be a beast.

Liege Picks
Pogi, Remco, Vauquelin
Pidcock, Healy

Healy’s been looking great, no surprises there, and I was particularly impressed with how he handled the Mur de Huy.

LBL picks:
Pogacar, Evenepoel, Pidcock
Vauquelin, Buitrago

Boots is a good pick

I would rock a 7/11 jersey.

@likes_bikes - congrats on the win - likely years in the making with a dedicated cyclist parent. good for you!

team 7-11 best result in liege? I don’t know (I also don’t know how to find it). US riders - no problem - Tyler’s 2003 win from a stacked lead group. Lance - I think was 2nd maybe '96? (This seems really suited to Matteo Sonny Jorgenson now) . I’m guessing Dag Otto, but I don’t know.
