2025 bike racing thread *SPOILERS*

I just noticed Tuesday’s date, and withhold my previous comment until that time

I thought there was a post in this thread showing the US cycling TV schedule. My search is failing me. Did I imagine it?

G-W is only on Flobikes correct?

Here ya go - same sub-forum, different thread

I really like how Mads is racing this year. What a killer ride.

Chapeau to Mads. Clearly on killer form. I thought he’d take it easier today after the big day on Friday, riding for Milan, keeping an eye on next weekend. And maybe that long range attack was part of that strategy, letting Lil’ T sit on while others chased. But it looked like none of the other teams were interested in winning the race and that was that.

Mads Smash

Ah, forgot about G-W. So much for my lead. Back to contrarian picks!

Great ride by Roglic.

Helluva ride by Pedersen. Now joint record holder as a 3x winner, and he has a good shot to become the first 4x winner.

Paris Roubaix is shaping up to be quite the showdown.

Mads with the People’s Elbow, reminding everyone he brings the goods. Flanders is going to be a slugfest.

Ayuso looks like a Catalonian hitman. Unfortunately he ran into the godfather, Rogla. Should be a good rematch at the Giro.

Kudos to Roglic for winning, but Ayuso was having a bad day or he really tactically messed it up today. He was completely out of position when Roglic went and instead of trying to cover the move, he waited around not realizing he didn’t have any teammates left. Maybe he can get his payback at the Giro, will be fun to watch.

With how great Pedesrson looked at Paris Nice and then again the past 2 races, it really makes his no show at MSR even more of a mystery to me.

Nice to see this thread back where it belongs in the ‘main’ forum.

Hell of a ride from Mads today. Heller or a ride from SD Worx. It was nice to see Lisa Bike back in the mix a bit.

It was amazing the number and quality of riders who were completely taken out of the game at MSR by Pogi and MvDP.

Ganna’s ride was incredible. And kudos to team Ineos. Hope PR goes well for him.

MSR is just a truly unique event. It’s almost 300km long, and it’s really just cruising in the pack until the last 60 of those for the real contenders. Then it ramps up to blisteringly fast immediately. Add cold and wet conditions like we had for most of the race this year, and some folks just have wooden legs when they suddenly need to hit the gas.
What’s really incredible is how consistently some riders are able to perform there.

Mads got sick after P-N and was not fully recovered for MSR.

He and Wout both on the start list for Dwars door this week. Let’s go Wout!

Yeah, whatever LOL

Now the forum taxonomy makes no sense. It took me a while to find it the other day and why is this thread in Road Cycling under Triathlon when there is an all things racing forum.

Q36.5 got their Giro wildcard slot, do we think Piddles goes for stages or takes a shot at GC?

Stages.

Think he has to go for stages. Just the TTs alone could cost him buckets of time against Rogla and Ayuso.
