2025 bike racing thread *SPOILERS*

Agreed. And nice win by Nys yesterday, big display of skill and power.

Gotta’ love that Nys is shaping up to be the polar opposite rider to his dad; always on peak at the big moments.

And his road pedigree certainly looks much better.

It was just such a different era. I remember what a big deal it was that Rabobank was even letting Sven ride with their road team in some of the classics. At the time, that was essentially unheard of.

And just barely 22 yo, will be cool to see him continue developing on- and off-road.

Get your bet in for him to win CX worlds next season!

With Tibor Del Grosso nipping at his heels

Not if MvdP is going for it.

That’s sort of a given. If MvdP or Wout show up, everyone else is racing for the remaining podium slots.
Assuming he wins this year, MvdP ties the record for most World’s titles. He’ll either come back next season and take the outright record, or skip CX for a while and leave that as a prize for later in the career. I kinda think it might be option 2, especially if Flanders/Roubaix don’t work out for him this season.

TdU women’s solo was pretty baller today.

Also, Paduntani has retired. I’ll catch you all in 5 years when we learn the truth about 2021 Bahrain.

I’ve got a feeling Chloe Dygert is going to have a good year.

That was a pretty fun 3-stage race.

She was on it for that stage. Nys lit it up again yesterday too.

Also hope Kickasgreen returns to form, even if it’s odd (slightly uncomfortable?) watching him in EF pink.

agreed that Dygert sprint (from about 300 uphill - yikes) looked impressive.
the cross highlights looked like a US Crit with more micro accelerations and more severe accelerations. It looked like there was A LOT of draft until too many accelerations broke things up.
is there ANY chance Nys could match MVDP for worlds this year??

Peak Asgreen is a serious threat - maybe w/o (I am on my plan and I’ll pull Pogi up to Powless on the Tour’s Roubaix stage if I wanna) Bettiol - EF can get their tactics better with multiple cards?

Mid Atlantic weather has been dreadful - hoping as Omloop approaches it can coattail us some riding weather (though it looks like it will take the whole month long wait).

Dygert not having to focus on the Olympics should help her out a good deal on the road although I still think positioning will be something she needs to work on before the big spring races are obtainable.

I managed 90 minutes outside Saturday before the weather turned (again) yesterday. A sunny 50 degree day will be nirvana.

Looks like the windchill is going to get down to -30 C here tonight. Won’t be much warmer tomorrow but there are people that will still be commuting by bike. Hardcore.

Not that bad here. But riding in that kind of cold is lunacy.

Anyhow, got skills?

A proper slopfest is always fun. But I watched women’s Benidorm this AM. A firm and fast course sure can be exhilarating.

That Benidorm race was flat out in the closing laps - it looked brutal. Vos looked like she was about to pass out and/or puke towards the latter part of that last lap.
