SO I got CBS streaming and on the sports channel, they are live streaming all the final tables it looks like. Event #3 broke all kinds of records, 28k+ entries at $500 each. Largest live field ever, first time over a billion chips on a table, first time one guy had a billion chips and the game was still going!! It was really fun to see 7 nobodys who made the final table battle it out. Because of the blind structure almost everyone was pretty short most the time, yet they all played very conservative and well to move up in pay bumps. Guessing it was life changing money for the last few guys, so no one was super aggressive.
Anyone else watching? I will be going out next week and playing a couple events, so wish me luck!! I could use some life changing money… (-;

You get a break every two hours, and of course you can just leave the table and your hand whenever you want. But most guys wait. And your question I quite serious in the seniors event I play in, virtually every guy in the field is busting his bladder. Too cheap to leave early, so they all load up and sprint for the few restrooms. Last year I found a secret spot to jog to, so hopefully it is still in play.
This $500 tourney that just happened had to be murder, I think they had 4 starting days just to get to a manageable field size. 500 bucks to win more than a million, someones dream came true for sure. They don’t normally have that low a buy in for the World Series of poker, so a lot of folks got off the couches(I mean treadmills and zwift bikes) to come down and try their luck…All you had to do is be in the top 4200 and you cashed!!

Thats a pretty cool story, I hadn’t heard of that guy before. Did you know him in the music world? And that is pretty typical of tournament winners. Usually good players that just had a good run of variance at the right times. Of course there is a luck factor, most games and sports have that. In poker it is the long term you look at, so play to have the best overall outcomes…
Ran into James woods on the dinner break and had a chat. I didn’t let him know I was a fan, just talked poker. He related to me one of the most stupid hands he had seen on his table, luckily he was not involved. I see he went out very late last night. And looking at the last 3 to bust before the buzzer, all big name pros doing a last minute shove, Dan Shack, Mike Sexton, and Dan Harrington. I guess the pros have a thing where when you get to the last hands, they either want to chip up, or go home, not wasting time on a 2nd day shortstacked.
So over 800 left out of about 2700, money bubble at 398, so wish me luck!! I’m just this close to $360k, and I’ll buy the drinks!!
Yes k to enter, and you get knocked out, you don’t drop out. I’m over 4 hours into day 2, money bubble coming up in an. Hour or so. I’ve chipped up a bit thus far
So made another Ironman of poker yesterday, 12 more hours of the most unhealthy, heart thumping way to spend a day and night. Fought the old men hard, but never got traction. Actually folded in a lot of big spots, going for longevity in the tournament, rather than trying to accumulate chips.
I’m short stacked, with 118 guys left to start day 3 today, they will play to a winner however long it takes today. Sitting in 90th, so I will have to pick a moment in the first few rounds, blinds are huge. Still could get some luck, my lottery ticket now is about 100 to 1 for that $360k!!! Results starting today;
I’m not sure how I’d hold up in a multi-day event like that. Hard to concentrate that long. I usually find a few spots to slip up once I play for more than 6 hours or so.
I do pretty ok in cash games, just never adapted well to escalating blinds, tables getting short and stack shortening. Good luck.
