2016 Roubaix Front Rim Brake Problems

I have a 2016 Specialized Roubaix and want to use 28 width. I’m ok with the width, it’s the OD of the tire that’s a problem. My current brakes are the standard Axis 1.0 and again, the width is ok but rub on the height.

Does anyone know if there’s a rim brake out there with the clearance I need?

The lastest shimano brakes might work. They’re sized for bigger tires at least

Thanks, I’ll look.

I rode a GK slick 32mm mounted to i9 22mm internal rim (I think that was the ID) with a Shimano 6800 rear brake with no issue.

I had good luck with Tektro brakes as well, 500 series on up, for 28mm tires from Vittoria, Hutchison, and another brand escaping my memory at the moment.

The early SRAM Rival 22 brakes were designed for wider/taller tires. I’ve used them w/ 32mm tires.

Thanks I’ll look into those.

You may have a hard time finding them, what with everything going over to disc.
