According to this interesting article, if the 2016 Olympics are awarded to Chicago, the cycling events will take place throughout Madison.

Knowing the roads that this will (potentially) be held on, I think it will be a terrific course and a great thing for Madison.
Any idea if the triathlon will be Chicago or Madison?
My guess would be they use the Chicago Triathlon course but some how shorten up the transition so you don’t have to run friggen 4 minutes from water to bike and bike to run.
Madison only had the capitol view triathlon which just came out last year, and its a hard course for biking/running, and brutal if the winds are blowing to make Lake Mendota choppy.
the triathlon will be in chicago…Remember, it would be a multiple loop bike and run course. If I remember correctly the original plan was some of the Chicago course, but swimming in a different spot.
