Looks like he might be a better runner than his 3:30 Kona, I think from the other thread he is coached by Alan Couzens…hopefully they can chime in.
great race in tough conditions, tough to miss CR by 3 minutes but I bet he is happy.

In fairness the year he did his 3:30 in Kona, he was unable to run for 5 weeks before Kona. He came to one of my Epicman training camps before Kona and it was crazy pouring rain here in Ottawa and he went down hard on his hip on an off camber right turn right in front of my eyes. He was uncertain if he would be able to run right up to race day, so I suppose that 3:30 was not indicative of his actual running that year.
Also if anyone has updates on the women’s race, would be great if someone can post them!
