2013 Training Totals

Year-end total time. Let’s hear 'em. Here’s mine:
Swim: 455,000 yd = 258.5 mi (+47 mi vs 2012)
Bike: 10,630 mi (+2150 mi vs 2012)
Run: 1826 mi (-50 mi vs 2012)
It was a big volume year for me, averaging almost 19 hrs/wk. I doubt I’ll beat it this year…

Swim 627,000 yds (355 miles)
Bike 2,312 miles
Run 2,507 miles

Walk 249 miles
Other 35 hours (stairmaster + yoga)

Total of 786 hours

I suggest that you take that massive 19 hour per week base (988 hours), dial back the volume, leverage that base and crank up the intensity big time off a 700 hour year (just under 14 hours per week). You’ll probably be crazy fast. Well, at least I know this is what Fleck would tell me to do! (ended up at 797 hours this year).

Swim: 338,500 yards
Bike: 5,088 miles
Run: 1,511 miles
562 Hours total (including some other stuff)
14,517 Points. Gotta hit 15,000 next year!

swim 198,488 yards
run 2,371.4 miles
bike 2,138 plus another 1.5 hours later today

568 hours

I hope to do better in bike and swim in 2014.

Thanks, Dev – that’s roughly my plan. I did a lot of volume early in the year training scared for my first IM then got a bit burned out midway through the year. I hope to be smarter this year & not chase volume numbers.

Running: 256 runs, 2,415 Miles, 300 hours
Swimming: 9 swims. 28,900 yds, 7.5 hours
Biking: 5 Trainer rides, 100 miles, 5.5 hours
Golf: 1 Round, 4 hours

2014 will be about biking.

Swim: 60,111 yards (+5,000 yards from 2012)
Bike: 4,787 miles (+1,200 miles from 2012)
Run: 2,054 miles (-500 miles from 2012)
.

628,000 kJ

This thread won’t be complete until CaptainCanada posts his totals.

510,000 yards swimming
4,740 miles biking
1660 miles running
~570 hrs, almost 11 hrs a week avg. - not bad for a year with a newborn!

Swim 2,355,000 yd (1338 mi)
Run 1261.2 mi
Bike 111 mi
Total Hrs 912
Total Points in ST Training Log 28,706
Total Days Training 364
.

Swimming 157,508 yds - 53 hours
Bicycling 3,640 miles - 247 hours
Running 945 miles - 156 hours
456 total hours
Man, sure feels like i had more. I shouldn’t have slacked off after IM.

But basically comes down to:

Swim: 638 miles (1,122,000 yards) / 288 hours
Bike: 8,584, miles / 496 hours
Run: 1,728 miles / 211 hours
Core: 17 hours
.

Pretty happy with my totals considering I didn’t train for 2 full months due to injuries.

Swim-222,887 yards/70 hours
Bike-5,135 miles/262 hours
Run-1,165/156 hours

Let’s see…

SWIM: 46,650 Yards (26.7 miles) Not bad considering was deployed first three months this year :wink:
BIKE: 1,543 miles (93 hours) Need to up this big time.
RUN: 634 miles (84 hours) This needs to go up as well.

Still was a fast year, but always could be better!

Swim: 233 miles (375,000 meters) / 109 hours (+89km from 2012)
Bike: 7,656 miles / 402 hours (-1,325mi from 2012)
Run: 1,602 miles / 206 hours (+579mi from 2012)

Total: 717 hours / 13.8hrs/wk (Identical to last year)
.

Does that include your race miles?

Maybe 15 rounds of golf + about 20 days downhill skiing

I’m glad I don’t keep track of the beer

It might be interesting to see what kind of distribution this group has on the proportion of swim:bike:run compared to the same proportion vis-a-vis common race distances
.

Still train mostly by time–lot of the bike is indoor, fair chunk of the swim is OW.

Cycling = 283 hours
Running = 160 hours
Swimming = 124 hours
Other = 72 hours

TOTAL = 639 hours
Average = 12hr 20min per week

There’s a fair amount of stuff I didn’t log–most of the year was exhaustingly busy for me, but a beautiful year, training and otherwise.
