Anyone know the date for the 2012 USAT AG Nationals?
we were talking of this recently, and the general thought was that it’d be the same week-end as it was this year. it was saturday, august 20 this year.
peggy
I was wondering the same thing, trying to plan out 2012 and this is a must on the calendar. If you find out the official date be sure to post.
So if I made it in the top 3 of my AG in a USAT ace I qualified ?
You got it, the qualifying is kinda confusing but it makes it so that you have plenty of opportunity to get in.
Woohoo I am in then. Now if only I can qualify for hyvee it will quantify my qualifications :0).
They haven’t announced the qualification standards for 2012 yet. And last year it was top 10% of your AG, not podium. So unless there are 30+ ppl in the AG then that wouldn’t qualify you.
MALE AGE GROUP: 40 - 44
1 23 KEVIN KALL 44 YARDLEY PA 1:04:09
2 25 BRIAN MANNERS 42 ROBBINSVILLE NJ 1:04:23
3 37 ZOLTAN KEMECSEI 41 PISCATAWAY NJ 1:05:30
4 41 MATTHEW DALY 43 PEARL RIVER NY 1:06:00
5 43 MICHAEL ADAMS 41 SHIP BOTTOM NJ 1:06
That would not count? I think I counted 26 in the AG. The race was in sept. After this years nationals.
if the standard is 10% then 2/26 would count. I think they even allowed 3/26 because of how they rounded.
But they haven’t said what the standard is this year. It’s likely it’s the same it has been in the past, but who knows.
Yeah, that’s top 10%. I was just saying that podium doesn’t necessarily equal qualifying. And like I said, the standards are changing this year and they haven’t announced them yet. I’m talking about last year’s standards.
I hope they dumb down hyvee so I can get in there :0) okay no I don’t I hope they make it faster.
Dude, just do the sprint nationals- you don’t want to mess with those fast oly/itu dudes…stick with short and violent!
Tris,
I can be violent, fast , slow and steady :0)
.
Thats what I have on my calendar, not sure where I saw it though.
USAT just published their '12 schedule. The AG Nats Oly is on Aug 18 and the sprint will be the day after. Good choice to move the sprint to the next day. It started in the afternoon after the Oly finished this year and it got pretty warm that day. I’m sure the locals would appreciate a Sun morning race too. The roads around Burlington were badly gummed up on Sat afternoon.

Didn’t they originally have the races on separate days in 2011, only to change it later to both on the same day?
Oh, Brian: anyone who is All-American in 2011 is automatically qualified for Nationals in 2012. You will be AA in 2011, right?

I think the standards are:
top 10% in a USAT sanctioned race or top 33% in special qualifiers
previous year AA
if you were on Team USA the previous year (used to be if you ever on Team USA)
Top 10 in your AG the previous age group nationals
The trick isn’t to qualify by only one standard, but under all of them.
If 82.6 ( I think) makes me AA then yes Ken :0) could be 78 I am not sure. I did miss most of my season and then raced I mired :0) I got a whole bag of excuses ;0)
