My LBS has a 2010 Cervelo R3 for $3499. MSRP was $3999. Is this a good price and is this a good bike? I’m looking for a new road bike for recreational riding. Thanks.
Awesome road bike, but I’d think you could do better on the price as the '12s are coming out soon if they’re not out already.

I was thinking the same thing. Do you know what a fair price would be for this bike?
the one thing that really comes to mind is that the 2010 has the non-tapered steerer and is non-bbright. So it’s probably more comparable to the 2011/2012 RS, which runs $2600 for Rival; so maybe $3000 for the Ultegra equipped R3. Nytro is charging $3200:

Depends on specs. You can buy a new '12 for $3,499 according to Cervelo’s website. For a '10, depending (again depending on specs) I’d think in the $2,500 - $2,700 range would be reasonable. There’s a never ridden '11 mostly Ultegra on eBay for $3k here.

I would think you would be able to get a much better deal. I have seen some 2011 R3s with ultegra going for around $3000 canadian
I paid $3100 (candian) last April for a 2010 R3 Ultegra. A fair price, not great, not bad.
It is an amazing bike, love it, just love it.
Thats ONLY a 12.5% discount on a bike thats 2 YEARS OLD! The discounts on most 1 year old bikes (2011) are more than that…
Decent but not great price, unless it’s Di2. It’s a very, very nice bike (I had a 2009 R3, which was destroyed in a car vs. bike, then replaced by a 2011 R3), but you could get a 2011 R5 with Red (lighter frame with BBright) for $3,999: http://trekbicyclesuperstore.com/

No not a good price. A 2012 R3 with Rival will be $3500. Rival is a great group set plus you get all the other benefits of the new frameset.
