2009 Felt B2

New bike…finally…ordered it in June 2008 - it finally arrived last week. It’s absolutely beautiful…

just wondering, did your felt frame come with a sticker that said do not use in bike trainer?

I can’t even see the bike, I am blinded by that damn reflector on your back tire. Take it off . . . please!

HA! Without a doubt - that will be coming off…the bike was still in process of being put together (note - no crank).

daaaaaayyyyymmmmmnnnn…

That is one PRETTY bike. Seriously, though, get those reflectors off of there! Let us know how she rides (like the wind, maybe?). Also, what wheelset is that?

OMG. Reflectors. AAHHHHHHHHHHHH. My eyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyessssssssssssss!!!1!!111!111!!

I think that is the TTR 2 wheelset. Felt makes them. There was some info in the last issue of Triathlete. I think Felt sells them separately for around 600. They are nice looking and I think have aluminum braking surface (possibly are all aluminum?).

Blinding perhaps…but you won’t see the bike being recalled for not having them.

It actually did come with a sticker that says that…but since we clamp it to a metal skewer on the trainer - we should be ok.

what did the sticker say about the trainer
.

I have an 07 B2 and it never said that.

I don’t have the exact terminology in front of me - but it was something like do not clamp carbon into trainers or bike stands. Is was on the seat tube.

That bike is awesome. Maybe I’ll upgrade my S22 next year to one of the BSeries Felts. Congrats.

Nice, I’d like to hear how you ended up trimming the extenions and the position of the base bar (rise or drop) as well as your taste for the DEVOX Tri Tip Grip and the selected durometer. Arm rest comfort comments are welcome as well.

Dave, do you have any pics of Tim DeBoom’s Felt?

SD,
Is there a difference between the devox bars on the site and the bars that are spec’ed on the B2? Weight, Carbon, Stiffness?

Thanks!
Ben

Yes, both the new GREEN one with “rising sun” graphics and his old RedBull YELLOW Splash DA.

I’ll try to get around to hostin’ and postin’ em.

cant wait to see all the tim deboom photos!!!

Proud FELT DA owner myself.

There is a rendering on his blog

Ben,

Yes, the Bayonet Base Bars on the B2 are 7000 series alloy, a bit heavier than the UHC + Nano monocoque carbon fiber DEVOX bars, they use ALLOY arm rests and high density foam pads, not GEL pad over CARBON arm rests. They are just as stiff, but a bit heavier. They have nearly the exact same shape and cross section, so aerodynamically speaking, they are within 1% as fast as the Felt Devox Bayonet Bars.

The major difference between FELT and other brands here is the much lower cost of our own designed proprietary integrated alloy bars which allows us to equip bikes with them as inexpensive as the B14, where every other manufacturer is stuck with a 4 piece set up in these intermediate price points. With the Bayonet bar, you get the aerodynamic advantage of a 1 piece aerobar down in the sub $3000 complete bike category. The bar coupled with the same frame mold as the DA is built it and the 40mm deep TTR wheels make it the fastest, most aerodynamic out of the box TT/Tri bike in the industry, I don’t think you’ll get any argument about that.
