The new 2009 Quintana Roo Caliente is now out, the MSRP is $2695 and the 2008 is $3500. Why would this be? I noticed that the 08 has a dura ace Front Derailleur and the 09 has an ultegra. This alone shouldn’t slash the price by $800?

Because they also have the Lucero and Lucero Lite versions, as well as the new Cd01 bike. Smart move in my opinion.
My guess would be to fill a price point. Since they introduced their uber-bike the CD 0.1, having 4 bikes over $3500 wouldn’t make sense. But I’m sure the QR guys on this board know better than I would. Either way, it’s a stellar bike and I love mine so far.
