I guess it comes down to hed carbon vs zipp carbon… If you take cost out of it what wheelset would you go for?
The only downside i can see from my untrained eyes is that trying to true out the Bonotrager wheelset would be a pain because of the spoke design.
or if there is a better wheelset out there with about the same depth/aero please let me know what you all think…
i bought a used pair of 5.0 tubulars from toyota-united to road race last season. they’re an awesome wheelset although you’re correct about the spoke design, which requires pulling of the tire to true.
my .02: did upwards of 30 races and gave them a beating. not one mechanical until the last race of the year where i hit a nasty pothole and actually flatted the tubular, yet there was no damage to the rim. this season i picked up a pair of 404s and destroyed the set in a stage race - my second race of the season on them. i’d go with the 5.0s hands down, for road racing at least.
